e-Book on Russian Women (Part 4)

Russian Women in the Home
It has traditionally been the role of RW to carry out duties in the home. And herein may lie a potential problem for the expectation between the RW and western husband may differ. Foreign men may read all the different marriage sites, which proclaim a RW will make a wonderful wife and stay at home all day cleaning and cooking.
However we always advise a client to keep in mind why a RW is leaving Russia. She just wants to live a normal life. For some women this may mean staying at home and being the perfect housewife while her husband works. Other leave Russia because they want opportunities to work and do more than being a housewife. Men need to consider this men they marry a RW. All the documents you read will never tell you what to expect. You need to spend much time talking to your prospective partner and planning for your life ahead.
Another thing to consider is that there is now a growing group of women who never even have thoughts of being an housewife. They are not looking for a normal life. They are looking for a better life.
It is an ancient custom for a woman to run the house: cleaning, cooking, looking after the children, washing and mending the linen, making preserves. As a matter of fact, the ideas of the wife’s duties have been adjusted in the long run but haven’t essentially changed.
In Russia the responsibility for maintaining order in a home (daily and overall cleaning) lies upon the woman. Russian women are naturally very clean, therefore their home, either a town apartment or a country cottage, is shining as a rule. There are several ways to attain the goal.
In high-income families the work is done by a daily help or people from special agencies hired by the hostess on purpose. The hostess is to control their work.
Most Russian families cannot afford a hired cleaner, so the task is carried out by the feminine part of the family: grandmother, mother and grown-up children. In united, loving families men can also participate actively in maintaining order.
Modern city-dwellers very often do not distinguish between wife’s and husband’s house duties: they prefer to carry them out together, or a spouse having spare time and a desire to do it at the moment, dies the work. In the country they stick to the traditional division of labor. The living conditions can easily account for the fact. In the country men retain the duties connected with hard physical work in running the family farm and garden. That’s why women shoulder all concerns for the home.
Clean linen and clothes are the second concern of Russian women. Neatly dressed children and husband wearing a clean well ironed shirt add to her reputation of a good wife.
Kitchen. It has always been the working place of the Russian woman in the house. Deprived of electric kitchen appliances aid, the Russian woman is engaged in a non-stop cycle of cutting, boiling and frying something. One of the characteristic features of the Russian cuisine is a great number of ingredients, and it’s very time and effort consuming. Russian women treat with distrust the semi-finished products and prefer to do everything with their own hands. In summer and autumn the usual continuing cycle of cooking breakfast, dinner and supper is accompanied by making preserves for winter: juices, jams, pickles, salads.
Children. Theoretically, a three-year long leave to look after a new-born can be granted on either a father or a mother, but in reality fathers exercise this right only in exceptional cases. That means that looking after the children is exclusively mother’s duty.
Dacha (garden plot). In the 1990s dachas turned from a place for rest into a major means of surviving – people then were more like farmers than amateur gardeners. A dacha is a place to grow vegetables, fruit, berries, to breed poultry, cows, pigs. Under economic crisis and unemployment conditions, in circumstances when wages are not at paid or detained, when food prices grow steadily up, a dacha provides food thus avoiding death. And again the major part of the dacha burden falls to the woman’s lot: she tends seedlings in spring, she plants, weeds waters, gathers the harvest, makes preserves in summer and in autumn. Of course there are fanatics for whom working in the garden is a hobby. Most people, however, refrain from having rest on weekends and work themselves into fainting out of ruthless necessity, because the Russian woman doesn’t see any other ways to provide her family with fresh vegetables and fruit.
So we won’t be mistaken if we claim that the Russian woman doesn’t imagine herself apart from her house. Traditionally she runs the house, not considering the task an unbearable burden. Still any Russian woman will dream of having less house work waiting to be done.

Did you know that a leaky spray head on your kitchen sink might be caused by a faulty diverter? If this peaks your interest or if you want to know more about plumbing, then you will want to read what else we have to provide in this article about how to take care of plumbing in your home.

Routinely check your appliance connections and faucets around the house for any kind of obvious leaks or nearby signs of moisture. Not only do even the smallest leaks lead to a large waste of water and money, they also can lead to damage to your home or even the development of harmful molds.

Avoid flushing cotton balls, cotton swabs and any feminine sanitary products down the toilet. Even small panty liners can cause big problems because their adhesive backing can stick to pipes and cause stoppages. Keep a small, covered wastebasket next to the toilet to encourage guests to properly dispose of used sanitary articles.

Find out the plumbing codes in your local area before starting any project. Plumbing codes can vary wildly from area to area and you don’t want to run afoul of the codes. Visit your local building department to find out information or hire a plumber for a day to help you go over your plans and provide advice.

To avoid hair from accumulating and clogging pipes. Use fine mesh strainers in every drain where hair is washed. Fine mesh strainers can catch the hair and still allow the shower, tub or sink to drain and are also useful in the kitchen to catch and stop small food debris from going down the drain.

A great way to save a few dollars is to add insulation to your hot water heater. Much of the energy required to heat the water in your home is the expense from keeping the water in the tank hot for when it is needed. Adding an extra layer of insulation can help reduce this cost.

Every year, you should check your toilet tanks for leaks by pouring red food coloring into the tank. Leave it in there for an hour and check the toilet bowl water. If the water turns red, that means you probably have a leak and you should have it fixed soon.

Use a hair trap on your bathroom drain to make sure it doesn’t end up clogging your plumbing. A simple grate can be placed over the drain and hair can be pulled off each time you shower. If your pipes do end up plugging you can buy a snaking tool which will go down and grab all the hair for you.

Be sure that you shut off your drain lines and outside faucets when the weather gets colder. Cold weather, snow, and ice can cause these lines to freeze up, which can cause damage to them. If you can, try to have these shut off before the first frost of the year.

In conclusion, that leaky faucet may just be easier to fix than you imagined. Instead of making a call to a plumber, having to wait, and then paying out top dollar, you can now fix it yourself. Use this advice to put yourself in the best financial situation possible when it comes to plumbing.

A great tip that can help you whiten your teeth is to listen to your body. Ease off of whitening products if you start noticing that your gums are bleeding. Irritated gums and teeth are a common symptom of whitening products. Listen to your body and discontinue use if you notice these symptoms.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil could be the key to getting your teeth whiter. The oil has been proven to contain ingredients that whiten your teeth. To use this method, begin by brushing your teeth with normal toothpaste. Then, pour a tiny amount of the olive oil on a washcloth and scrub your teeth.

When using over-the-counter teeth whitening products it is important to read and follow the directions very carefully. Don’t leave the strips or gel on longer than the instructions dictate, as this could lead to sores and problems in your mouth. Avoid drinking or eating acidic foods or beverages for a couple of hours after treatment.

The best way to whiten teeth is to prevent their discoloration in the first place. Flossing is a helpful technique in getting rid of plaque, which causes teeth to lose their color. Floss after any meal or snack you eat. If you can, take floss with you to restaurants. Be especially sure to floss before bed, as plaque forming bacteria will cause teeth to lose their white color while you are sleeping.

Visit your dentist regularly. Sometimes, the regular cleaning a dentist can provide will remove stains from your teeth and you may not need to have them bleached at all. This deep-down cleaning will help get the stains out of micro-cracks in the enamel in your teeth.

Your eating habits are a big key to maintaining a white smile. Processed food and fast food contain chemicals and preservatives that can leave staining residues on your teeth. Try to incorporate fresh raw vegetables and fruits and eat salads which contain beneficial vitamins and minerals that help promote stronger, healthier teeth.

Change your toothbrush at least once every 2 months. If you fail to do this you can cause more bacteria in your mouth which can cause problems with the color of your teeth. This can also cause other problems with your teeth and mouth which can lead to problems in the future.

Getting teeth that are white is actually more simple than it seems. Since this determines how you feel about yourself and how other people feel about you, it’s important to have white teeth. Using the tips above you will be able to make sure your teeth are always white and pretty.

Bringing Architects and Their Partners Together: The Power of a Secure Extranet

Bringing Architects and Their Partners Together: The Power of a Secure Extranet

An extranet is a private network within which document sharing can take place by specific groups of users outside the organization through a network administrator. An organization may allow authorized customers and partner’s access to the system after verifying the usernames and passwords.

The extranet: Enhanced document sharing and collaboration

Architectural firms have increasingly been using extranet to send and receive documents in a secure environment. All the relevant information about a particular project can be made available to all the individuals who are part of the project, be it the clients or other partners in the venture. Construction companies can access the CAD drawings and plans immediately, without much waiting. It also enhances the relationship with the clients who can receive the relevant documents and send their approvals accordingly.

Outsourcing Extranet Services

Some firms have not shown interest in implementation of the extranet because of the complexity involved and the high cost of installation and maintenance. It requires purchase of equipment, the necessary hardware and software for its implementation and training to maintain the system. However, there are hosting companies to whom the implementation and maintenance of the extranet can be outsourced. These hosting companies, also called application service providers (ASPs) not only provide the technical support, they also provide all the security measures required to keep the data secure. An architectural firm need not worry about the purchase and installation of any hardware or software installation or setup. The hosting company also provides maintenance and training to the staff. The firm just requires paying a fee to the application service provider for all the services it renders.

Advantages of an extranet

Extranets allows all the team members working on the project, be it the employees, vendors, suppliers or clients to share the design plans, documents and hence collaborate online. This aids in a better customer service and prevents unnecessary lengthening of project schedules. A lot of money is invested in any architectural venture and all the delays lead to substantial amount of money going down the drain. An extranet gives a platform to the workers to perform multi- site collaborations. Since all the data exchanges take place in real time, there are chances of less rework. With the usage of extranets increasing, special software packages have been developed specifically for the architectural firms. They support project management, e-mail management, accounting and scheduling. An extranet not only enhances the process of decision-making but also improves the relationship among clients and partners.

Never pour grease into the kitchen sink. Pouring grease into your kitchen sink is the best way to clog up the pipes, at which point it will be very difficult to penetrate the grease to stop the clog without a bit of a cost involved. You should expose of grease appropriately without exception.

Check the plumbing in your home. If your home has the flexible gray polybutylene water pipes, you need to have a plumber come out and assess their condition. These types of pipe are prone to failure and can lead to very costly repairs if they have a failure within your home.

Look online for reviews of the plumbing contractor you are thinking of hiring. If people are not satisfied with the work that the plumber preforms, many times they will go on the internet and post negative reviews. If they are happy with the plumber they will also post positive reviews.

Checking that your devices are working throughout the year can pay large dividends in the event of a crisis.

To keep your septic tank in good working order, it is advisable to have it pumped out every five years. This prevents sediment from building up in the tank and causing a backup into your home or causing the failure of the septic system itself. While it may cost a bit to have your septic tank pumped out, it will cost you much more to clean up any sewage backup or to repair or replace your septic tank.

When your toilet clogs and a plunger will not release it, try a closet auger. This tool features a handle that you rotate in order to feed a line into the toilet drain. When you remove the auger from the drain, the clog should come with it, unless it’s past the length to which the auger can reach.

Avoid flushing cotton balls, cotton swabs and any feminine sanitary products down the toilet.
