One of the best career opportunities in the IT industry is the computer training job. Computer training jobs can take place in a variety of environments. However, these type of jobs are very stable, the hours are scheduled in advance, and the reward of helping someone succeed in advancing their career are among the top reasons for working in the field. In fact, it is even possible to work a computer training job from home, as a personal tutor to those seeking training in a variety of arenas in modern computing.

In other areas of the computer technology industry, work can be unsteady, depending on the incoming work orders to stay busy. In addition, in many capacities, IT professionals find themselves on call during all hours of the night, the weekends, and even major holidays. With a computer training job, you’re set! There are no weekends, no night classes, and no holidays (unless you sign up for them in advance – there’s no last minute calling you in).

So what type of computer training jobs are available, and where do you find them? Some local mom and pop repair shops would be glad to host a weekly class aimed at the community to bring in business. They might not pay you directly, but you could charge an admission fee for your class and any reference material you might provide. While this type of computer training job seems more on the entrepreneurial side, it is all up to you.

Another opportunity for someone wanting to work in a computer training job could be working as a consultant for the small businesses in your area. Most small businesses use computers in their day to day operation, but many cannot afford a full-time IT person on staff. This presents an opportunity for the right person to come in and present weekly or monthly employee training classes. There is a wide variety of topics that could be coverd in such a computer training job, such as basic network troubleshooting, file maintenance, Internet security, and the like. If you want to be your own boss and have a computer training job, you will have to think outside the box.

Of course, there is the formal type of computer training job. These positions usually present themselves at the local college or university level, as well as at the corporate office of bigger companies. However, the one downside to this type of computer training job is that it will most certainly require a degree, not just a certification in your field. Any of the aforementioned computer training job ideas would present well just having a major certification under your belt in the area you are looking to conduct classes in. The halls of higher learning, however, require a much stricter criteria for hiring the teachers for their classes.

The bottom line is that if you want to experience a fulfilling area within the IT industry, finding a career in a computer training job is one way to certainly do it. From the standpoint of the entrepreneurial computer expert, there is no better way to take back control of your time and your life than developing your own career path. Put your best foot forward and come up with a great idea. Remember, think outside of the box, and you can find yourself working in a computer training job in no time at all!

We all deal with them, those little computer problems that aren’t quite big enough to warrant a call to the Computer Guy. You know, like every once in a while your camera won’t transfer its pictures the right way. Or like the times when all of a sudden your computer shuts down for no apparent reason and with no warning whatsoever. Don’t forget those odd “Run Time Errors” with the crazy numbers in them. I love those.

The worst part is, you could probably fix some of these things yourself if you just had a little help or guidance. Calling a professional, while sometimes necessary, can be both a greater inconvenience and of course a greater cost. It may take forever to contact them, and when you do get in touch with the help desk, they always make you reboot the thing twelve times before you get any real advice.

Let me be clear on a couple things before we continue. First, I am a professional computer technician and have been working in the industry for over 15 years. There are numerous occasions where a professional is needed to help with or repair your PC. It is often my advice to have your system evaluated at least one every three months. On top of that, there are many things a novice should not try on their PC for fear of causing more harm than good. Not everything is this way though.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Your best way to help maintain your computer is by staying informed and educated. I’m not suggesting everyone run out and get a Computer Science degree, but I am suggesting you use some of the top notch free resources that are available to you. The largest these days is of course the internet.

Don’t get nervous yet, I’m not suggesting you look up some super hi-tech article and study it until you know it inside and out. You don’t have to. The net is full of people who already understand these things and are more than willing to pass some of that understanding on to you. They do this in forums.

Forums are a wonderful thing. A lot of forums are actual cyber communities of people who love to talk about various topics. They have people of varying skill sets, all interacting in a friendly supportive way. I know there’s a free computer support forum out there with people in it just waiting to answer some of your questions.

So next time those pop ups are driving you crazy, and you can’t reach your favorite help desk, stop by a computer support forum. You’ll be surprised at how good an experience it can be.

Step 3: If these things are not enough to restore any of the data that you have lost, or you have had a hard drive crash, it is essential to use a good quality data recovery product or software tool to help in restoring at least some of it. If your system does not come with this, which most do not, you will need to purchase it. But, it can help to restore data that is far more worthwhile to you when you think that everything is gone.

Even with data recovery software and the best computer technicians, not everything can be successfully recovered. If nothing else, you can learn from this and keep everything on your computer backed up onto a removable disk. Consider doing this at least weekly if you use your computer for quite a bit of storage, monthly otherwise.
