The wet/dry vacuum combination may very well be the
most versatile vacuum cleaner on the market today,

very handy machine to have around your home. The
canister types can vary from the smaller 6 gallon
sizes to the larger 22 gallon sizes.

The HP ranges as well, from 2 to 10 HP. You should
always try to match the size of the unit to the
size of the job and frequency of use.

Upright vacuums
One of the most popular features of an upright
vacuum cleaner is the bagless system. In addition

canister of the vacuum.

The nozzle can be one of two types, nozzle or
power nozzle. To get your carpet as clean as
possible, it is recommended that you use the power
nozzle, which will agitate the carpet and loosen
up the dirt for deeper cleaning.

Another feature worth looking for is a suction
control switch, as this allows you to adjust the
flow of air for cleaning delicate material such
as upholstery and drapery.

Time. We all wish we had more of it. One of the best ways I’ve discovered to carve more hours out of my day is to take control of my schedule, organize it better and find a way of working smarter. Better organizing of your schedule sometimes means doubling up on tasks or simply viewing any momentary chunks of downtime differently. As a result of my own experience, I’ve come up with five simple ways of organizing your time.
Tidy First, Clean Later
Now ask yourself this…will anyone ever know if your don’t dust behind the TV or clean the top of the refrigerator? Chances are good they won’t, unless you happen to have a friend or relative who visits wearing a white glove. And, if you do have such a visitor, send them on their way after only a brief visit. I’m sure they’ll find even more dust at their next stop. The key to eliminating the overgrowth of clutter is to pick up things around the house on a regular basis. But when time is short and it comes down doing one thing or the other, focus on organizing the house first and leave the cleaning until later.
Master The Art Of Delegation
Weekly planning sheets which include chores, appointments, school activities and leisure interests are a great way of organizing your family life. Having everything spelled out in advance works wonders and eliminates the need to continually nag. Kids can see everything they have to do and want to do, at a quick glance. So, when they ask permission to do something, all they have to do is consult the weekly planning sheet first.
Carry A Notebook
You may want to take the planning sheet idea one step further and use a calendar/planning notebook as well. Carry this one with you at all times. Write in it all appointments, dates, special occasions and deadlines for you and your family. It may seem like a lot of doubling up but in the end, it does save a lot of time not to mention, the hassle of having to deal with conflicting activities. If your carpet does become stained or overly dirty, there are numerous homemade products and easy carpet cleaning tips that you can use to make it look new again.

When cleaning the entire carpeted area, always use a warm water solution. The warm water allows the grime and oils to be broken down more quickly and completely. For the cleaning solution you can use any of the numerous commercial products available but a simple mix of water and vinegar works just as well. The white vinegar will pull residue from the fibers making your carpet softer and cleaner.

For stains, there are numerous treatments. Club soda works great on red wine stains. Brake cleaner works great on tough food stains and WD40 works great on oil or grease spots.

To use brake cleaner, simply apply the cleaner to a cloth and then blot the stain. Once the stain is removed rinse the area with a vinegar and water solution.

To use WD40, simple spray the stained area and allow the cleaner to sit for 30 minutes. Blot the area dry and then rinse it well with a mixture of dish soap and water.

The best carpet cleaning tip for removing general stains is shaving cream. Shaving cream, when applied directly to the stain and allowed to set for 30 minutes, will remove just about every type of stain. After the cream has set, gently blot it away with a dry white cloth. Be sure to rinse the area with a vinegar and water solution after cleaning.

When cleaning a carpet stain it is important to remember to blot the affected area and never rub it. Rubbing causes the particles to ground into the carpet fibers and it can also lead to the premature breakdown of those fibers.
